A Body Home

Does your body feel like your home?

Has it ever? When was the last time that your body felt like a home for your heart? Is it possible? Impossible? Subjective? Conditional? And why?

I love to dance . . . and I have a complicated relationship with movement as many of us do. I haven’t shared fully about it and that is okay. You don’t have to share either!

I facilitate dance spaces because movement, dance, sweat, community, and music are nourishing for our hearts and our minds - AND I am aware that each person’s relationship with movement and their body is complez. It can be painful, confusing, and discouraging at times.

My goal is to explore with you, in curiosity, how we can nourish the relationship that we have with our bodies . . . how can we feel good sensations in our bodies and move in joyful and affirming ways?

How can we cultivate thoughts that are not degrading to our bodies or others bodies? How can we seek kindness for ourselves when the thoughts that cross our minds about ourselves or others are questionable or unkind? How do we de-condition what we have been deeply conditioned to think about our bodies? About the ways we move? About the sensations we have or don’t have or aren’t sure we deserve to have?

The journey has already started.
