Discussion will Include: Preparation for first 24 hours, resources for coming home, first 2 weeks of life, how to support yourself and create a pod map, next 2-8 weeks of life (includes talk about development, attachment, bonding, sleep), 8-16 weeks of life (development, milestones, sleep regressions), afraid to ask questions, and plenty of time for open discussion and Q&A. This is an inclusive group and families present may use different terms to describe infant feeding (examples: breastfeeding, nursing, chestfeeding, bodyfeeding, bottle feeding…) or themselves (examples: parent, mom, baba, zaza…). We ask participants to be respectful of other families and ask if unsure of correct language. We will use neutral terms when talking generally and person’s terms when talking to individuals. We hope this space encourages organic support network creation.
